Gunners Stunned, Title Hope Fades

Arsenal took on Watford Tuesday night at Emirates Stadium, looking to shorten the gap between them and the table toppers Chelsea. But they were stunned by a fresh Watford team who scored two goals in the first 15 minutes of the game. After that, Arsenal were left chasing the scoreline but that wasn’t to be.

Arsenal looked on their way to recovery but the guests proved to be fresher of the two.

Alex Iwobi deflected a pass from Alexis Sanchez into the goal getting the hosts their first and only goal of the game.

With the UEFA Champions League round of 16 starting in a couple weeks time, it was necessary for the Gunners to dispose of teams like Watford and get a winning momentum ahead of their Champions League campaign.

With this loss, the north London club looks almost out of the title race. They will take on teams like Chelsea and Liverpool in the coming weeks which will only make their claim more difficult. It remains to be seen what steps does the banned manager Arsene Wenger to keep them in the title race.
