Rahul Falls Early

With no Shikhar Dhawan in the squad, Lokesh Rahul and Murali Vijay opened the Indian innings. A big score was due from both the batsmen and was expected that they will make most out of the Bangladeshi attack. But as has been the pattern of Indian batting, Rahul fell early to Taskin Ahmed.

Both batsmen looked comfortable at the crease and century for both the players was on the cards. But Pujara fell  short of a well made hundred, edging one behind to Mushfiqur Rahim from Mehndi Hassan.

Kohli takes Charge

Virat KohliVijay was joined by an in-form Virat Kohli who scored a four of his first ball. Vijay was at his elegant best, with leaving, defending and driving at ease. Soon he reached a magnificient hundred. Vijay got out on 108 leaving India at 234-3. Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli looked to solidify the Indian innings and add as many as they could before they break into the tail.

Kohli was on the front foot scoring 111* from 141 with 12 fours at a strike rate of 78.7. Rahane too looked good and scored an unbeaten 45* at the end of day’s play. The duo has now added 122 and will look to add more tomorrow morning.

Bangladeshi Blunders

Blunders in fielding and review making hurt them badly today. They would hope to better their performance to run through the Indian side early tomorrow and prevent a big score on the board.

Whereas the pair of Kohli and Rahane will play calmly with all the time in the world and score as many as they can to give India the upper hand at the end of Day 2.
