Kings XI Punjab- Team Preview

The Kings XI from Punjab have been having a hot and cold campaign from the start of the tournament back in 2008. They have reached the Semi-Finals twice and featured once in the finals in 2014 which they lost to the Kolkata Knight Riders. A major part of the team was changed in the 2014 mega auctions. Inclusion of star players such as Glenn Maxwell and David Miller boost the team from its previous squads.

New Buys and Full Squads of All IPL Teams 

With Maxwell all ready to take charge of this young team, Eoin Morgan, Vijay and Miller are the ones he can look up to while taking decisions who all have experience in leading an IPL Team.


Kings spent a total of 9.45 Crores in this year’s auction to buy star players like Eoin Morgan, Martin Guptill and Matt Henry. Kings have also relied in some fresh and local talent buying the uncapped mystery bowler T Natrajan for a whooping 3 Crores. Inclusion of Darren Sammy and Varun Aaron give them the much needed edge in the bowling department.

The presence of experienced Vijay and Saha provide stability in the batting order, where as Maxwell and Miller bring the much needed firepower in the shortest  format. The Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis impressed previous season with 146 runs and 8 wickets picked up in his 7 matches played for the franchise.


Kings have a Indian heavy bowling attack with Sandeep Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Axar Patel,KC Kariappa and Varun Arron. Matt Henry can play as the fourth overseas player after Miller, Maxwell and Marsh/Amla to add pace to the bowling department.

Predicted XI- Murali Vijay, Manan Vohra, Glenn Maxwell, Eoin Morgan , David Miller, Wriddhiman Saha, Axar Patel, T Natarajan, Matt Henry, Varun Aaron, Mohit Sharma.

Kings will be playing their first match against the Rising Pune Super Giants on 8th April.
