Currently ranked 1st in ODI Rankings, the Proteans are right behind the India in the Group-B standings of the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2017. The South African Team will be playing against the Pakistan team here on 7th June at Edgbaston, Birmingham (6:00 P:M IST). Pakistan lost its first match to the title-holders India and they must surely raise the standards of their cricket in all aspects whether it may be fielding, bowling & batting.
South Africa defeated the Asian Lions Sri Lanka by massive 96 runs in their previous match and are currently ahead of the Sri Lankans, whereas the team Pakistan is in the dip of the tip.
Fielding is surely a matter of grave concern for the Pakistanis as they dropped several catches at crucial stages of the match played versus India. Also the running between the wickets from their batsmen was pretty slow and also led to couple of run-outs.
Their lead and attacker pacer Wahab Riaz is also injured and is now ruled out of the Champions Trophy, which again adds to the misery of the team’s current performance.
As a replacement Rumman Raees has been called in for his injury and is expected to deliver a match winning spell for the team that desperately needs to win.
Hashim Amla again proved why he is one of the best batsmen in the world. He scored a ton and reassured his 50-over match greatness. du Plessis & JP Duminy also came handy with the bat and also contributed in some big hits.
Imraan Tahir destroyed the Sri Lankans with his 4 wicket performance and the opponents need to be very careful for him now, as this bowler can create havoc in few moments of game play.
