Unique Record In Champions Trophy By An Indian Player

ICC Champions Trophy 2017 has covered nearly half of its journey so far. Till now, many records have been broken and also many new records have been created. But there is one record which is special in the dimensions of the players involved in it and also the players who have either retired from the international arena or are not playing in this edition of the Champions Trophy.

The record which we are talking about is that of the highest run scorer in all-time history of this prestigious tournament of ICC equivalent to a mini-world cup.

Shikhar Dhawan is the only batsmen in the list of the Top-10 batsmen who is currently playing International Cricket and has not retired yet except Chris Gayle which due to unfortunate reasons could not feature in this edition of the Champions Trophy, since West Indies failed to qualify this season. The top-10 list of all time includes Mahela, Sangakara, Ganguly, Jacques Kalis, Dravid, Ponting, Chandrapaul & Jayasuriya including Dhawan & Gayle.

Out of this 10 players, only Dhawan is the player which is featured in this Champions Trophy. He has till date scored 556 runs in all the editions of Champions Trophy in mere 7 innings which shows his prowess in this limited over version of cricket.

India will take on with the Proteans in an unsaid Quarter-Finals of the Group-B of the Champions Trophy and everyone’s eyes would be centered on this player.
