Rumour Mill: Van Dijk To Chelsea? Know more about it!

At what looks like a move that could materialise and set a huge chain of transfers in motion seems to be Virgil Van Dijk to Chelsea! The Dutch winger, previously being courted by Liverpool had their interests drawn back after Southampton accused them of foul play and tapping up and reaching out to the player behind their backs. Subsequently, the Merseyside withdrew their interests as a mark of apology and it was considered that Van Dijk to Manchester City, a rumour floating around since the beginning of January could be fulfilled into reality!

However, the Transfer Window has now seen a twist in the tale as Chelsea appear to be vying for the signature of the highly coveted ball-playing centre-back as well. With The Saints slapping a £60m valuation for him, Chelsea could appeal to The Saints more so, than the Citizens as Chelsea offer Nathan Ake, the highly rated young Dutch defender with huge potential to make weight for his move.

Southampton are said to be highly interested in the youngster and could be looking realistically at a valuation of £10m-15m valuation for the versatile defender who has shown capacities to play at Centre-back, Left-Back as well as Central Defensive Midfield position.

The Chelsea fans will have mixed feelings about this one just as they have been experiencing since the season closed shut. While Van Dijk could be alluring, Ake showed a lot of promise. And his transfer only shows the failure of the famed Chelsea academy and their loan system to produce World Class talent contained and content within their boundaries.
