After the resignation of Anil Kumble from the Head Coach position of the Indian team, BCCI are yet to select a worthy replacement of the veteran leg-spinner. Many legends from the cricket community have applied for the prestigious position.
Another Indian legend has entered the fray and sent an application to BCCI regarding his interest to coach the Indian team. According to TOI, Venkatesh Prasad has applied for the job and has become one of the many candidates applying for this position.
Venky is, right now, the chief selector of the Indian Junior Team and his contract at that post will end in September this year. Venkatesh Prasad has played 33 Tests and 162 ODI’s for the Indian Team and was a significant member of the Indian Bowing attack in the 90’s.
Although there have been no comments from Venky himself, the 47 year old is all set to compete with the likes of Ravi Shastri and Virender Sehwag to become the head coach of Team India.
