Conte held Morata’s transfer as a hostage for staying?

Chelsea announced the confirmation of Morata in a deal worth  £60m. As the Stamford Bridge outfit finally laid hands on their prime summer target, after missing out on Romelu Lukaku and landing the Spanish Spearhead.

Unsurprisingly, Chelsea announced Conte’s contract extension being agreed today. It isn’t too much of a stretch to assume that Conte had transfer clauses inserted into his contract and that’s why announcing the deal made sense when Morata’s deal was done and dusted. It makes much sense since Chelsea has witnessed a mass exodus of young players for yet another season. And would need a deep squad to be equipped for Champions League this season.

Chelsea fans should be relieved by Conte committing to Chelsea since the last time he had disagreements with the board, he walked away from a team which had won Serie A undisputedly.

Chelsea fans, are you happy?
