Selectors omit Yuvi, Is this his end ??

The ongoing 3rd test is expected to yield a straight third win for the Indians and hopefully they would be clean sweeping their neighbors, who are currently suffering from the disaster of form of players and voids left by their retired senior players. After the completion of the third test, both the teams would be playing against each other in the 1st ODI at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, Dambulla on August 20, marking the first of the 5 ODIs and only T20 to be played.

Selectors have dropped Yuvraj Singh for the upcoming 5 ODI & only T20 in the ongoing series against the Asian Lions Sri Lanka, including some big names like Ashwin, Jadeja, Umesh & Shami.

The mind of the fans must be in the state of turmoil currently since Yuvraj has not been given a chance to play, which is very crucial to decide his future regarding the next World Cup in 2019 to be held in England & Wales. Whereas the decision taken by the selectors to omit the 35 year old all rounder Yuvi from the teams of the limited overs seems to be justified on the basis of numbers and papers, where this Punjab boy hasn’t delivered and justified himself being effortless and brutal at the same time, for very which these things this players is known for. Yuvraj has scored mere 162 runs in 7 innings which includes only one half-century, that too which came far way back on 4th June against arch rivals Pakistan.

The inclusion of Kedar Jadhav & Manish Pandey over Yuvraj Singh might seem unjustified and undigestable at the moment for the Yuvi fans which would be a bit annoying too. Kohli had already slashed out the rumors that he won’t be playing in the upcoming ODIs and T20. From a fan’s and a common cricket enthusiast’s perspective, the exclusion of big hitter Yuvraj Singh is disheartening and one would love to see him back in the team in the near future.

Yuvi 3

Yuvi hasn’t played a single ODI since one and a half month, where his last ODI appearance was against the West Indies on 30th June where he scored 39 runs off 55 balls. 39,14,4,22,23*,7,53 are the numbers Yuvi has scored in his past 7 ODI innings. But one has to accept that players don’t always go through their best form all the time and consequently cannot deliver the performance they are expected of. Selectors have put their faith on the bench of the Indian team and have either dropped or given rest to some players.

India Squad: Virat Kohli(c), Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma (vc), KL Rahul, Manish Pandey, Ajinkya Rahane, MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Shardul Thakur, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah
