The La Liga season finally kicks off.
Barcelona will welcome Real Betis at home in their first game of the season after humiliating performances against their bitter rivals Real Madrid in Super Cup, while the visitors would like to make a dream start to their new season by restricting Barcelona in their home.
TEAM WATCH:
BARCELONA:
After a great start in International Friendlies under their new manager Ernesto Valverde, Barcelona failed to perform in the Super Cup Classicos wherein they lost 5-1 on aggregate. The team failed to find the perfect replacement for Neymar, who left for PSG this summer in what till now has been the hottest transfer this summer. Barcelona also lacked in dominance in the midfield and failed miserably in the back as the two legged Clasico saw various defensive errors. Adding to their woes has been Suarez’s injury as he is expected to be out for a month while no updates have been received on Iniesta, who complained about some thigh injury and thus was not in the squad which visited Bernebau.
In order to bounce back, Barcelona have signed Paulinho from Guangzhou for 40M euros while rumors are that they have negotiations going on with Coutinho and Dembele.
REAL BETIS:
After finishing 15th in the league table last season, Setién would this time like to improve his team further in the table. With Adan on the goal and Sanabria in the front and two new signings Boudebouz and Javi Garcia, the fans expect a better result from their club this season.
