It is the second week of the championship and is the time for all those with serious pretentious to the title to flex their muscles. So here comes a wonderful piece of tennis art carved out of the number one seed, the Spanish Socrates Rafael Nadal who beat the unseeded Ukrainian Alexander Dolgopolov in three straight sets 6-2 6-4 6-1. The match took place in Arthur Ashe Stadium which is one of the center stadiums of the US OPEN grand slam Championship.
Nadal got 44 of his 63 first serves in which is 70% whereas Dolgopolov got 51 of his 86 first serves inside with a first serve accuracy of 59%. The Ukrainian hit 7 amazing aces through the game which kept him alive in a few games.
Both of them hit two double faults each. Nadal had a winning percentage of 82% in his first serve and a winning percent of 79% on his second serve. The fastest serve was served by Dolgopolov with a mind-blowing speed of 208 kph.
“I think I played a solid match” said the number one seed just after entering the championships’s quarter finals in just a 104 minutes. Stay tuned for more updates.
