India VS Macau AFC Cup 2019 Qualifiers : Review

India registered their third straight victory in row following their hunt of securing place in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup. It’s been more than 17 months since India lost an away game. Their last defeat away from home came against Iran in a 2018 World Cup qualifier match.

India won 2-0 against 183rd ranked Macau and continued their undefeated 11 match streak, winning 10 of those 11.

After a goal less first half, Balwant Singh came off bench and scored a brace. The former Mohun Bagan goal poacher found the target in the 57th and 82nd minutes respectively to seal a easy victory for team India.

Despite a emphatic dominant performance in 1st half, India was not able to provide a breakthrough. Macau played a decent game in 1st half but they didn’t played up to mark.

The second half started with Balwant Singh coming off bench and making a great impact on game by breaking the deadlock in 57th minute with a powerful header.

India played a very good 2nd half and finished match 2-0. India is looking to seal spot in 2019, and currently is on top of the group A.
