Tottenham will be hoping to make an early statement in there opening match against German rivals Borrusia Dortmund.
Pressure will be on Tottenham to get off to a quick start in the Champions League when they host Borussia Dortmund. Tottenham has already handed a tough group including defending champion Real Madrid and Apoel Nicosia.
They can find themselves catching pace with in the group stage if they do not begin with a home win.
Tottenham are without Dele Alli, who was sent off in their final Europa League match last season and as a result starts a three-game ban.
“Dele is a big miss. He’s a fantastic player who has been great for us” said striker Harry Kane.
The injured Victor Wanyama, Danny Rose, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Erik Lamela also miss out, but Mousa Dembele is expected to be available.
Expected starting XI: Lloris, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Aurier, Dier, Dembele, Davies,Eriksen, Kane, Son.
Dortmund also have a long injury list including full-back Erik Durm, Raphael Guerreiro and Marcel Schmezler as well as Marc Bartra.
Sebastian Rode,Marco Reus and Andre Schurrle are also out including Neven Subotic falling ill.
