Bayern Munich has reportedly sacked manager Carlo Ancelotti after the Bundesliga champions were defeated 3-0 by the French side, Paris Saint Germain in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night, their biggest Champions League group-stage defeat in 21 years.
As reported earlier by us, Bayern officials met with Ancelotti on Thursday to discuss the future of the manager. Apparently, the board called for Carlo Ancelotti to explain his strategies and agenda for the season which looks kind of off- track with shocking team selections and on-field strategy that Bayern have showcased this season.
Bayern was not only poor in Paris but also in Bundesliga they’ve failed to perform well. A slow start to the new season has seen Bayern lose one and draw one of their opening six games to leave them third in the table trailing the leaders Borussia Dortmund by three points. But the pressure has been building on Ancelotti since the start of the season because of their poor performance in pre-season games where Bayern lost against Arsenal, AC Milan, Liverpool and Inter Milan.
An official announcement is yet to be made but German outlet Bild report that coach Willy Sagnol will take temporary charge with Thomas Tuchel linked to being the next manager of Bayern Munich.
