The match today started in a very unusual manner, as at the toss, the coin flipped by Kohli didn’t rotate at all, it came down with the same face as it went up. Australia, this way won the toss and elected to bat first.
From the very 1st over Australia seemed a completely different team as was expected by them, having no pressure. Both Finch and Warner were in fluent touch and they destroyed the changed bowling attack of India.
Both the openers, especially Warner, were in a very attacking mood. So the opening stand in itself went away with the match. Aussies were soon 230-0, but then yet again faced a middle-order collapse and soon were 231-3.
Warner scored a brilliant 124 and after playing 100 matches he’s only behind the likes of ODI greats like Amla and Sir Viv Richards. Finch too continued with his form in the last match and scored 94 and missed a well-deserved century.
Finally due to Handscomb’s short little cameo, supported by Travis Head Australia ended the innings with a mammoth total of 334-5. Umesh ended with 4 wickets and also took his 100th in ODIs.
But as the pitch is an awesome batting track and the kind of bowling Australians have done in this series, it is still anyone’s game with my favorite still being India, with the likes of chase master Kohli and awesome form of other Indians.
