The Battle of Reds – Liverpool vs Manchester United

The age old rivalry between both teams will be witnessed again as Liverpool will host Manchester United at Anfield.

Manchester United have started the season in great form, currently sitting second on the table, winning six of their seven opening games and scoring 21 goals in the process.

United have been handed a major boost ahead of their match, with Lukaku and Jones expected to play. After an ankle injury, fans feared that Lukaku would struggle to return to action against Liverpool but he was declared 100% fit by his national coach. However, bad news is at store for United as Fellaini would be ruled out due to a minor injury. With Pogba already unfit, Devils would have to rely on Herrera.

Liverpool, meanwhile are at seventh place and have failed to keep a clean sheet since August. Although Liverpool is looking impressive with their attack but they are being let down by their defense. And the fact that they have missed so many chances have pressurized the much criticized Liverpool defense. Three wins in seven games speaks for itself and it feels like Liverpool are still recovering from their 5-0 defeat to Manchester City a month ago.

Another major blow for Liverpool is that Sadio Mane has been ruled out with hamstring injury. Mane made a fantastic start to the new campaign scoring three goals in first five matches. But his injury could hand opportunity to summer signing Alex Oxalade-Chamberlain who has struggled to make an impact since his summer move from Arsenal.

Despite the poor results, Liverpool can still turn the tables and they will be desperate to make a statement against the Devils. The history of rivalry and passion between both the clubs make this meeting more special and fans from all over the world are waiting with anticipation for this epic clash.

Match will be broadcasted on 14th October at 5:00 PM local time.
