In present, Barcelona sit on top of the La Liga table with 31 points, invincible and yet to taste a defeat. They are 8 points atop their fierce rivals Real Madrid, who are presently going through a tough time with 2 bitter losses and star players injured or not performing well.
But FC Barcelona super-man goalkeeper Marc Ter-Stegan is taking nothing for granted in La Liga’s title race despite his side only dropping two points so far. He believes it to be a ‘tight race’ and only wants to focus on extending their lead over their rivals Real Madrid.
“It will be a tight race until the end,” Ter Stegen told reporters, as quoted by ESPN.
““It’s the Spanish league and we can’t allow any slip-ups. We need to be fully focused.”
Barcelona face their rivals Real Madrid in a high-intensity El-Clasico to be played on 23rd of December in Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid.
Ter-Stegan- “We hope we can keep the distance between us and Real and hopefully, shortly before Christmas in an important match, we can extend our lead.”
The German goalkeeper has been in an excellent form this season and has proved his mettle as Barcelona have conceded the least number of goals in the league till now and has kept 7 clean-sheets of 11 matches he has played.
Can he continue his excellent performance? Can he help his team claim their La Liga trophy this season?
