Young Sri Lankan blood including Dhananjaya De Silva, Roshen Silva and Niroshan Dickwella fought till the last ball bravely for their team after both the captains agreed on a draw, in a situation wherein an outcome or result was highly on the low side of probability.
A hard-earned 3rd Test century from Dhananjaya de Silva made the visitors reach to a good driving position but they couldn’t reach the target even after loosing mere 2 wickets in 87 overs which is commendable for the visitors as they struggled in the entire series. Roshen Silva was unfortunate to mark his maiden ton on the scoreboard.
At the time of draw Sri Lanka were 1 run short from 300 with loss of 5 wickets in 103 overs.
Indian skipper was adjourned Man of the Match as well for the series.
