It’s highly debated and quite hotly contested. But no one can deny that Messi forms one half of a duo which might as well be the greatest of all time. It shouldn’t come as a surprise to see people getting called ‘The Next Messi’ or some quantifier close to it. Yet amidst all these players, Eden Hazard has been one of the very few along with the likes of Neymar Jr. who has truly shown the potential to set the world alight when on form.
However, Hazard still isn’t considered widely by many to be among the top 5 players in the world. With notably, his failure to produce performances on the bigger stage when demanded especially in the Champions League looming over the Belgian’s head.
However, The little trickster will be given every chance to have a go at Messi and Co during the Round of 16 as Hazard will look to cement his place and put him on course to be running as a serious contender for Ballon D’or in the following years along with young stars like the fellow Belgian Kevin De Bryune, Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Asensio, etc.
It only comes down to Hazard and his performances which will speak louder than any words could when he takes on a relatively inexperienced Barca side, in stark contrast to the one which faced The Londoners almost 6 years ago. Although the quality is still there, the youngsters in Semedo, Umtiti will be given a proper prospect of facing a world-class attack in Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata.
Only time will tell who emerges out of this contest as the sole victor.
