Rajasthan Royals would like to make a good comeback in the tournament after a 2-year ban by BCCI. The franchise has won the first edition of this prestigious tournament in 2008. After that, they still are waiting for their second tournament win.
The Rajasthan Royals have said that they do not want to retain any players, and will head into the 2018 IPL season with a clean slate and every player new to the team.
Here is the list of the players that RR would like to retain or get back in the auction through Right to Match option:
Calm, composed and gritty are words that define this solid batsman. He is one of the key players in RR lineup. He has also scored a lot of important runs for the Indian team. He has a solid temperament, technique, and consistency which make him the first and foremost player retained by the franchise.
Another player who has a very high probability of getting retained by the owners is Aussie Skipper Steve Smith. He is one of the best batsmen across the globe right now. With his magnificent skills against fast bowlers and quick footwork against spinners, he will be another key player that the franchise will like to retain.
Aussie all-rounder has played an effective role in the franchise, proving his worth both with bat and ball. He has taken 59-wickets in his IPL career including two 5-wicket hauls. Faulkner has strengthened the RR batting order playing the role of a devastating batsman in the lower order. Though his recent form does not appear adequate, he has the ability to bat under pressure during death overs. It will be a wise decision for the Royals to retain him.
When it comes to Right to Match card, it will be a tough choice among Ankit Sharma, Rajat Bhatia, and Dhawal Kulkarni. Dhawal Kulkarni has bowled well for the national team and he has a lot of experience behind him so he will be prioritized among the youngsters.
