Bayern Munich sign Germany striker from Hoffenheim

Bayern Munich have signed the Hoffenheim and Germany striker Sandro Wagner.

The 30-year-old striker will join the Bundesliga champions in the transfer window in a contract which will keep him at the Allianz Arena until 2020.

Wagner has netted 5 goals for Joachim Löw’s Germany since making his debut in the first team earlier this year. A move to Bayern should facilitate his play in the World Cup in Russia.

Wegner is quite ecstatic while returning to his hometown.

“I’m delighted,” Wagner told Bayern’s official website.

“A long journey for me is now at an end and I can return to my home, my club. I’m very happy that it’s come off.”

When asked about if he had to think too much before moving.

“When I got the offer, I didn’t have to think about it for long.”

“Bayern are the best club in Germany and one of the best in the world.”

At Bayern, he is seen as a cover to their fearsome striker Robert Lewandowski. This addition to an already voracious attack would mean more worries for the other teams as Bayern already are 11 points clear at top of the Bundesliga and aim for more.

  1. Another way for Bayern Munich to keep their stranglehold on German domestic football. Buy up all the best talent weakening the opposition at the same time. Juventus been doing this for years in Italy.
