Glenn Maxwell burst onto the scene as an attacking, six-hitting batsman who could score boundaries at will and play cameos to boost the scoring rate down the order. Not only that, he even has the ability to show the dead bat when required.
In a Big Bash League match, on Tuesday night, Maxwell decided to bestow his wrath on Peter Siddle. Maxwell is usually found wanting against the fast bowlers while he is severe against spinners. But Siddle gor the wrong side of Maxwell.
Siddle was hit for a reverse sweep by Maxwell, which took no effort and left even the commentators speechless.
Now what do you call that? A standing reverse sweep? A switch hit? Or some new shot?
BBL is sure full of wonders and Glenn Maxwell doesn’t forget to surprise now and then. Although he was recently dropped from the Australia ODI squad, with such performance he won’t stay out of the team for long.
