The hosts started 2nd day firmly with the overnight score of 268-6. Soon, Keshav Maharaj edged it behind the stumps off the bowling of Shami which turned out to be his 100th test victim.
Faf, along with Rabada,took SA past 300 with the skipper going past his 17th test 50. Rabada reprieved couple of chances off Ashwin before falling off Ishant. Faf soon followed Rabada after his well compiled 62.
Ashwin finally bought end to their proceedings and bundeled them up to 335. Ashwin and Ishant were the pic of the bowlers with 4 and 3 wickets respectively. Vijay easily saw off six deliveries as India had just an over to play before Lunch.
India had a decent start post lunch session before Rahul was c&b by Morkel. Pujara got run out the very first ball he faced and India found itself in a quandary.

Pandya and Kohli saw off the remaining overs to prevent any further loss and India ended the day with 183-5. The skipper looks firm with just 15 shy off his 21st test ton.
With Pandya and skipper looking determined, India would first look to take an important first inning lead and put the host Proteas under pressure on Day 3.
