Superstar charged with affray, could be found guilty

Ben Stokes with a couple of other men has been charged guilty of affray following an arrest back in September. Stokes was arrested after getting in a fight and causing bodily harm which left one man in a hospital.

Stokes has since been out of the English team and hasn’t played a single match.

The Crown Prosecution Service said in a statement: “The CPS was passed a file of evidence by Avon & Somerset Police on 29 November 2017 in relation to an incident of disorder in Bristol city center. Further material was subsequently received in late December. Following a review of all the available evidence, the CPS has today authorized the police to charge three men with affray in connection with the incident.”

“A thorough investigation was carried out into the incident by Avon & Somerset Police before a comprehensive file of evidence was passed to the Crown Prosecution Service,” a statement from Avon and Somerset Police added. “Having carefully considered the evidence, the CPS has today authorized Ben Stokes, 26, of Durham, Ryan Ali, 28 and Ryan Hale, 26, both of Bristol to each be charged with one count of affray.”

The three of them have been summoned to appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on a date yet to be confirmed.

Following this, Englan team can finally decide on the future of Ben Stokes, as to whether to release him from contracts or get him back in the team.
