Mighty Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan became the first Indian player to smash a ton in his 100th ODI. Australian opener David Warner was the last batsman to achieve the landmark who scored a ton against India in September last year.
Dhawan has scored 4,309 runs, most by an Indian after 100 ODIs. He played a well-fledged inning of 109 runs during the fourth ODI of the six-match series against South Africa at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
Dhawan shared a second wicket partnership of 158 with Indian captain Virat Kohli, who held the record with 4,107 runs. South Africa’s Hasim Amla is currently the top scorer with 4,808 runs after 100 ODIs.
