Robert Lewandowski, One of the most prolific goalscorer for The Bavarians equaled Jupp Heynckes record of scoring goals in 11 consecutive home matches. He got his name on the record books just six minutes to the start of their match against Schalke, defeating them 2-1 to secure their 18 point lead at the top.
Jupp Heynckes achieved this record way back in 1972-73 season when he used to play for Borussia Monchengladbach. Unfortunately, he wasn’t on the field to congratulate the Poland striker as The Bayern manager stayed home with flu forwarding his on-field duties to the assistant coach Peter Hermann.
Lewandowski is currently leading the Bundesliga Top Goal Scorers charts with 19 goals to his name. He will surely be looking forward to extending this record when they play their next home match against Hertha Berlin.
