The Australian team is currently on a different level when it comes to test cricket. After destroying the Englishmen in the land of Kangaroos, this time they took on South Africa that too in their own backyard. They literally demolished the Africans even though they had their best team playing, which left them with no excuses.
In the first innings, the Australian team with a real team effort managed to get 351 runs on the board, with Smith getting a half-century and Mitchell Marsh missing on a much deserved century. Maharaj took fiver while Philander three, that helped South Africa keep the Kangaroos to a decent total.
South African batting lineup shattered against the mighty Australian bowling attack, where Stark and Lyon proved to be too good for the African batsmen. De-villiers was the only one to get some runs on the board that helped them to get 162 runs on the board.
In the second inning, the African bowlers fought back and bundled the visitors for 227 runs. Still, the target seemed too big an ask for the hosts. Markram and De-kock’s heroism was not enough for the hosts and ultimately they lost by a big margin of 118 runs.
This way the visitors took a 1-0 lead and now the hosts will have to work really hard to get back on track and face the mighty Australian bowling attack and above all the Stark factor will certainly be the biggest one to look for in the series.
