Dortmund star forward Marco Reus commits himself to the club by signing a new contract which will keep him with them until 2023. The 28 years old German international has been linked with various clubs but the star forward has committed himself to the club for 5 more years.
He has made 196 appearances for the club since joining it in 2012, but numerous long-term injuries have hindered the player’s performance. Last month, Reus returned after an eight-month-long injury.
“The fact that the club have repeatedly helped me in less than perfect times has also had a positive effect on my decision,” Reus said.
He said that his decision to extend his contract was a ‘thank you’ to the club’s ‘fantastic fans’. This contract renewal comes when most of his good companions leave him every year to join rival clubs.
Reus has twice been named Bundesliga player of the year and won the German Cup with Dortmund last season.
