UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Quarter-Final draw: All you need to know

Uefa Champions League is the biggest tournament a club can win in Europe. It gets more glorious as it moves to the later stages of the tournament.

After a series of brilliant matches and tough fights, 8 teams out of 16 have made it to the quarter-finals. The round-of-16 is over and we have with us the 8 teams which are going to play the Quarter-finals.

SportsJoint takes you through all the information you need to know about the quarter-final draw.

When and Where is the draw?

The draw will take place at Uefa’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland on Friday, March 16. The draw is set to get underway at 11am GMT (4:30 pm IST).

The draw will be streamed live on UEFA’s website.

Who is in the draw?

Barcelona (ESP)
Bayern München (GER)
Juventus (ITA)
Liverpool (ENG)
Manchester City (ENG)
Real Madrid (ESP, holders)
Roma (ITA)
Sevilla (ESP)

How does it work?

Unlike the round-of-16 there are no seedings and there is no rule of ‘Country Protection’ (Teams from the same country can play each other).

A team can face any of the other remaining 7 teams, so we could even see EL Classico tie- Barcelona playing Real Madrid. Or an all England tie- featuring Liverpool and Manchester City.

Teams drawn first will play the first leg at home, teams drawn second will, therefore, play the second leg at home.

When will the matches be played?

The first legs will be on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 April, with the returns on 10 and 11 April. The exact schedule will be confirmed in the afternoon of the draw.
