Messi Breaks This Unusual Record

Leo Messi proved his critics wrong yet again when he scored a late equalizer for the Blaugrana in the much important tie against Sevilla. The game saw Barcelona trailing till Suarez initialized the Barcelona comeback with a sensational volley in the 87th minute.

You can see Messi breaking records for fun and he has added another one to his name which is somewhat strange. Messi came out as a substitute against Sevilla due to some injury concerns. Here, he scored with an emphatic strike beating Sergio Rico at the left corner.

The feat saw Messi becoming the player with most goals as a substitute in La Liga in the 21st century. He has scored 21 La Liga goals as a substitute. The record was previously held by Walter Pandiani who had scored 20 La Liga goals as a substitute.

This is quite strange as you may not see Messi coming out on the pitch as a substitute, but with this record, he’s surely La Liga’s super sub along with being the leading scorer and the top assister in the league.

Messi loves scoring against Sevilla and the stats prove it.
